On Saturday 1 September the first official National Tofu Day takes place.
Alex Connell, Principal Tutor, from the Vegetarian Society Cookery School said: “National Tofu Day is a great idea. I love tofu and it’s time this adaptable ingredient was celebrated. Tofu soaks up flavours and takes on textures – it’s perfect for kebabs, marinades, stir-fries, curries, tofu-bacon, chocolate desserts and even battered tofu, perfect with chips. Our own Tofu Guru cookery course is proving popular with foodies interested in finding out how to master this ingredient. Try it in a recipe today.”
Check out the National Tofu Day website for recipes. We’ve also have tofu recipes in our online recipe collection. If you’d like to know more about cooking with tofu take a look at the Vegetarian Society Cookery School’s tofu courses Master the Basics: Tofu, and the Tofu Guru.
