It’s official, McDonald’s finally has a vegetarian Happy Meal – and it’s all thanks to your help. In 2018, the veggie community came together to sign a petition encouraging McDonald’s to give vegetarians more choice.

A huge number of you got involved and made this brilliant success happen. The new vegetarian Happy Meal, which kids selected in taste tests, includes a toasted tortilla containing a red pesto goujon, tomato ketchup and shredded lettuce.

Lynne Elliot, Chief Executive at the Vegetarian Society, said: “There’s a growing demand for veggie food everywhere and it’s fantastic to see McDonald’s meeting the needs of their customers. It is especially important for young veggies to be able to choose something to eat when they are out with their friends.”
