- This year, our website featured seven delicious recipes, one for each day of National Vegetarian Week. These recipes were provided by our brilliant sponsors Cauldron (our headline sponsor), Bosh!, Oumph!, and Linda McCartney. All of the dishes were classic, comforting meals and they went down a storm! You can get the recipes here.
- We had some wonderful celebrities on board, including Stephen Fry who tweeted about the delicious dishes he was making and Chris Packham who filmed himself tucking into a scrummy veggie burger. You can view all of the famous faces who lent their support here.
- A number of well-known brands got involved by holding competitions and sharing recipes on social media, including Frylight, Linda McCartney and Slimming World.
- News about the week was far reaching, due to extensive coverage from multiple newspapers and radio stations, including Express, Metro and BBC Radio.
Our social media hashtag #NationalVegetarianWeek was extremely active and was trending on Twitter – we loved seeing everyone share their meal plans and what they had been making. Here are some of our favourite posts:
It was also lovely to see different workplaces share how they were taking part in the week, including care homes, libraries and schools.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that got involved this year and also to everyone that donated – your contributions allow us to do this every year.
Make sure you put National Vegetarian Week 2021 (10 to 16 May) in your diary – we look forward to seeing you there!
