With our new Cookery School Manager settled in, there are some tasty changes for you all to try at the Vegetarian Society Cookery School. In case you haven’t met Sam yet, she promises to bring new flavours, new methods, and new ideas to get you inspired at home.
With that in mind we’re excited to tell you all about some new courses for you to get stuck into, followed by a taste of things to come…
To start with, there are loads more courses happening than ever before. With so many of you pouring through our doors to put passion on your plates, we’re responding with something to suit every schedule.
You’ll see brand new short courses in the evenings perfect for something a bit more interesting after work, as well as increase in weekend offerings and half-day culinary adventures.
One of the new cookery experiences generating the most excitement in the Vegetarian Society Cookery School’s taste-testing experts is the The Junk Food Vegan course, where we promise to fill empty bellies with all of the meat-free naughty treats possible in just a few hours. By the end of it you’ll be able to make sumptuous seitan ribs, incredible loaded fries, burgers, nachos, mac ‘n’ cheese, and more – all from the comfort of your own kitchen!
Dates: Thurs 26 April (evening), Tues 22 May, Sat 23 June
Our next course announcement comes hot on the heels of the performance of something we did for the first time in only February – our Master the Basics: Tofu class. After positive feedback from students, and fully booked places, we have launched a brand new tofu experience – The Tofu Guru – offering the chance to level up with your tofu mastery, and discover the secrets to make incredible crispy tofu, tikka tofu, even tofu bacon and omelettes! So check this one out to see just how far your tofu can take you…
Dates: Sun 06 May, Thurs 12 April, Sun 01 July
For those of you who follow a gluten-free diet, or just want a bit of variance of grains to eat as well as wheat, we have the perfect course for you: The Gluten-Free Veggie! Mixing science with fun, this course will show you the practical ways to maintain incredible flavours without losing out on texture along the way. With the opportunity to make cauliflower pizzas, and gluten-free breads and scones, this one is not to be missed.
Dates: Tues 10 April, Thurs 21 June
You may well notice that there are many more occurrences of our most popular courses. We thought it’d be rude to refuse to take notice of how many people are joining us for The Essential Vegan, the Foundation Certificate in Vegetarian and Vegan Cooking, and The Indian Guru – so we’ve allocated plenty more spots so everyone can get a chance to see what the fuss is all about.
One way we’re making this a reality is by welcoming in new faces to our growing tutor family. Each of our tutors has a wealth of experience and an approachable way of helping everyone to discover their hidden talents when it comes to cooking, and we’re excited to see them all in action.
If you want to come and give them a warm welcome, join us on our of our amazing new experiences, or try your hand at something else on the list, now is the time to get yourself down to the Vegetarian Society Cookery School.
